Nemo sequel finds it cast

Deadline reports that Finding Nemo 2 has confirmed it's main cast members

Finding Nemo was 2003's second highest grossing movie, hitting a huge $867.6 million worldwide, and snagging the 2003 Academy Award for Best Animated picture to boot. The Disney Pixar movie touched the hearts of a generation, and ten years since the original we are hearing about a sequel in the works.

Back as far as 2005 Disney announced a new animation studio, Circle 7 Animation, that would be working on producing sequels to the 7 Disney owned Pixar films, including Monsters Inc. 2, Toy Story 3 and Finding Nemo 2. Nothing more was known about the sequel, until September 2012 when writer/director Andrew Stanton confirmed that they were to begin working on the production.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ellen Degeneres was in negotiations to reprise her role as Dory, the memory-challenged fish, as early as August last year. And now in February 2013 Albert Brooks is confirmed to return as the lovable clown-fish dad Marlin, in the sequel. No word on what the plot of the movie would be yet, but with the movie slated for a 2016 release date there's plenty of time yet to find out more.

What do you think? Will Monsters 2 and Nemo 2 follow in the footsteps of the record breaking, hugely successful Toy Story 3? Or will the sequels tarnish our memories of the characters forever?
