Microsoft pursue online leaker with WA Police

Western Australian police raid Internet leaker SuperDaE with a warrant from Microsoft itself and the FBI.

Microsoft has called for the warrant, because of Dan Henry's (AKA SuperDaE) involvement with leaking alleged footage of their next-gen Xbox console code-named Durango. According to a copy of the search warrant, the police were asked to confiscate computer hardware, media, Henry's mobile phone and "any and all gaming consoles". It has been revealed in interviews since that he has also been involved in breaching several other companies for information including Valve, hence the confiscation of his hardware in the raid.

SuperDaE became known online when he tried selling a Durango development kit on eBay, pricing it at $10,000 before the auction was called a hoax and removed. Other developers had confirmed however, that the pictures he had posted for the sale were accurate, leading some to believe that the attempted sale may have actually been genuine.

He then followed this up by sending Kotaku with over twenty papers detailing the Xbox 720's specs, detailing things like integrated Kinect, storage capacity and controller design. Microsoft had no comment about these leaks, but The Verge has confirmed that the warrant and Microsoft's involvement is genuine, leading us to believe that at least some of these specs could in fact be genuine.

Henry has told that the FBI were trying to extradite him over these charges, "They can't extradite me straight up but they're looking for those loopholes to do it."
If this does happen, Henry could be charged with corporate espionage, dissemination of confidential documents and misuse of a computer or carrier service
