Saints Row Four-some!

OH MY GOD THE AMAZING-NESS!

Just watch this. Watch It. Love it. Read the rest of this, but just first... just watch it...

RIGHT?! HOW GOOD DOES IT LOOK!?

In a more serious/reporting tone, last week we got to see the announcement teaser for the next game in the Saints Row series, Saints Row IV. The sandbox / gangster game broke new grounds when it was first released on the Xbox 360 back in 2006. It took Grand Theft Auto game play and turned up the crazy notch to eleven. Each iteration of the game has gone even further with its ludicrousness, allowing gamers to wield foot long purple dildos and beat civilians to a pulp, and even taking us into virtual reality in an homage to Tron.

The series was developed by Voilition and produced by THQ for the first three games, but now with the bankruptcy of THQ, it has been sold to Deep Silver, more commonly known for Dead Island. If the teaser trailer is anything to go off, it looks like Deep Silver and Voilition haven't lost the insanity touch. Tron bikes, super powers, futuristic gun play, giant energy drink monsters, they're not exactly things you'd usually see side by side in a game but if this game lives up to its predecessors it should somehow or another make sense in the plot, and be an absolute blast of a time to play.

The game has a release date of August 20th for the US and the rest of us can get it August 23rd, 2013.

  1. A rumor that appeared on some news sites mentioned that the protagonist CJ of GTA: San Andreas could return to GTA 6. However, the basis for the statement would be the involvement of the voice actor Chris Bellard with the new game. Chris was quick to dismiss the rumor and used some strong words to say that he was not involved in GTA 6 and that he would not work with Rockstar again, despite respecting Dan Houser. It wouldn't be entirely impossible to see CJ again, but he would need a new voice.
