Done Did It Movies for the week - March 04

February's Done Did, so what do we have to look forward to in this first week of March?

Hello Done Didders! Starting with the month of March, Done Did It will be compiling all your movie releases, and letting you know a little something about each one, for each week for the rest of the year!
Every Monday (except this week of course) we will be bringing you the movies for the week, and letting you know if we think you should take a look or not. The big one for the week of March 4th is the much anticipated prequel, to one of the greatest movies of all time, Oz The Great and Powerful.

The trailer is absolutely tantalising, this is one that we will be seeing AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, in Disney Digital 3D.

21 & Over

From the writers behind such gems as The Hangover and The Change-Up comes a new "cah-razy night" comedy, about a promising college student celebrating his 21st birthday the night before a big exam. Cue drunken shenanigans, cheap gags, and plenty of one liners. If you loved The Hangover it is best to view this with caution, the reviews are coming in and it's not looking too great :/

Directors: John Lucas, Scott Moore
Cast: Miles Teller, Skylar Austin, Justin Chon

Barbara

Artsy/Drama, (if your mind just let loose an exasperated sigh after reading those words then carry on past this one). Barbara follows the story of a Berlin doctor in 1980's being banished to a small country practice after applying for an exit visa. Barbara starts planning an exit strategy, but is faced with a painful moral decision that forces her to choose in what she values most.
The movie has been nominated for 17 Euro film awards and has already won 7 (being released internationally since 2012) and is written by a winner of over 24 film awards Christian Petzold.

Writer: Christian Petzold
Cast: Nina Hoss, Ronald Zehrfeld, Rainer Bock

Broken City

"In a city, rife with injustice. Ex-cop Billy Taggart seeks redemption and revenge after being double-crossed and framed by it's most powerful figure: Mayor Nicholas Hostetler"
Yeah I read that in a deep, movie-trailer-man voice as well. The summary doesn't scream anything original, but then with this kind of ex-cop/revenge/thriller it is difficult to be. The writer Brian Tucker is as of yet unknown, so maybe with the all-star cast that's signed on this could be a winner yet.

Writer: Brian Tucker
Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, Catherine Zeta-Jones

Great Expectations

The age old Dickens story is brought to life once again on the big screen, where an orphan is raised into a gentleman, thanks to an unknown benefactor. The movie was produced by BBC Films, and although not always the case with these films, it does have the feel of a "TV Movie" even with the big cast. This may or may not be helped, by the screenplay being written by David Nicholls, a writer for Cold Feet and Rescue Me episodes.   The film was also BAFTA nominated for its Costume Design.

Writers: Charles Dickens, David Nicholls
Cast: Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Robbie Coltrane

 Oz The Great and Powerful

The title alone should be all you need to want to see this movie. All of us here at Done Did It are counting down the days until we can so see this in Gold Class, but for those of you who are unaware...
Oscar Diggs, a small time magician, finds himself caught in a twister and thrust into the magical world of Oz. Encounters with enemies and friends will force Oscar to decide if he will be a good man, or a great one.
It's the prequel to The Wizard of Oz guys, go see this movie!

Director: Sam Raimi
Cast: James Franco, Mila Kulnis, Rachel Weisz
