Zombieland comes back to life
Much to fans dismay, the 2009 Zom-Com Zombieland will not be getting a sequel anytime soon. However, we wont be saying goodbye to the Zombie Apocalypse World just yet. The original Zombieland screenplay was in fact written as a television show pilot, as much as it was reworked into a feature film, the script kept much of the TV features to it, like "Zombie-Kill of the week" for example.
The project was originally undertaken by Fox, presumably to combat AMC's hugely successful The Walking Dead series, but now reports are in that the series will more than likely be heading to Amazon, who have been working hard on original series for their video streaming service. It's thought that this is a good move for the site, and for the show, as they could possibly get away with much more gore than would be allowed on Fox programming.
The show will be blending familiar characters, with new characters blended in, although no information has been released in regards to casting yet, its highly likely that the movie cast will not be appearing here so prepare for some re-casting here. Rumours are saying that the original characters will only be used to frame the world and allow us to meet the new characters, so more of a cameo. But nothing is in stone as of yet.
